About this place
Steps from the east exit of Akabane Station, Hidakaya is an easy-going Chinese diner suited to a quick lunch or an impromptu drink. Counter seating dominates the 1F, catering well to solo diners, while table seating is arranged upstairs on the 2F. Orders are placed directly via tabletop touchscreens. Running nearly around the clock, the shop adapts naturally to varying daily schedules, from midday meals to late-night stops.
The noodle selection centers on wallet-friendly chuka soba, a vegetable-heavy tanmen piled high with stir-fried greens, miso ramen, and tonkotsu ramen. Options can be tailored to any appetite, from brothless noodles topped with an onsen tamago (soft-cooked egg) to balanced combinations like the half ramen, half fried rice, and 3-piece gyoza set.
Beyond hearty meals, dropping in for small plates and drinks is part of the appeal. A glass of Kirin Ichiban Shibori draft beer pairs naturally with pan-fried gyoza, spicy bakudan stir-fry, fragrant stir-fried liver and garlic chives, fried squid, or cheese rolls. Diners can easily graze through a few small bites before rounding out the visit with noodles or a set meal.
